Wholesale distributors or selling on behalf of a wholesaler is a type of retailing that happens at any point in time. Wholesale distributors of any type are individuals who are engaged in the trade of selling of wholesale products or items on behalf of another company or person who does not have the capacity to purchase their products from their own companies. There are many types of wholesalers. Here are some examples.

Wholesale distributors are typically engaged in two main types of businesses. One is selling on behalf of their own company or a related business and the second is purchasing products for another company and selling them. Wholesale distributors are those who engage in both types of transactions. In general, wholesale distributors are either engaged in the trade of buying products from another company to resell at a reduced price or buying products from another company and reselling them for a profit. Generally, it is either the reselling of items to an individual consumer or the purchasing of products from another company and reselling them to an individual consumer.

Direct sales wholesale distributors usually do not engage in any of the other tasks such as warehousing, shipping, inventory or any other type of distribution. These distributors usually buy a large number of product at wholesale prices and sell them to their customers at a discounted price. Wholesale distributors are generally known as manufacturers’ distributors.

These wholesalers are known as third party wholesale distributors. They usually have their own warehouses, where they are engaged in the trade of reselling their products to third party wholesalers and third-party retailers. Third party wholesale distributors or manufacturers are those who purchase wholesale products from a manufacturer and sell these products directly to their customers at wholesale prices.

Wholesale distributors and manufacturers are two different categories of distributors. Wholesale distributors who engage in purchasing wholesale products from wholesalers or manufacturers and selling the products to retailers are also known as retailers. Wholesale distributors who engage in the reselling of wholesale products to their customers and retailing of the products are referred to as retail distributors.

Wholesale distributors or manufacturers of any type are always engaged in a partnership relationship with wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers and are involved in a common effort to mutually benefit. Wholesale distributors and manufacturers are basically involved in business through buying products from wholesalers or manufacturers and selling the same products to wholesalers or manufacturers.

Wholesale distributors and manufacturers are not engaged in making money from their purchases but are engaged in the trade of buying products from wholesalers or manufacturers and then selling the same products to retailers. Wholesale distributors and manufacturers are involved in a partnership relationship where wholesalers provide the products at wholesale prices and the manufacturers resell the same products to their retailers. Wholesale distributors and manufacturers make their earnings by getting a profit on the wholesale prices or discounts. The profit that they earn on the wholesale prices or discounts is then passed on to their wholesale buyers. Wholesale distributors and manufacturers are considering an important part of the global wholesaling industry.
